HELLO NEW ME, GOODBYE OLD ME.

As a church, it is weekends like these that remind us why we're here: too see people far from God brought close, by finding His love through the community of our church. Although we know that Baptism is only the starting point and not the finishing line, we can't help but celebrate the fact that people who spent the majority of their life living estranged form church, have now chosen to commit themselves to Jesus. It is a reminder that despite the things you may have done in the past, Jesus is the ultimate restorer and restarter of all things. For this reason, our baptismal shirts have the inscription "Hello New Me, Good Bye Old Me''. It is symbolic of this "restarting" work of God's Spirit within us, transforming us into new people. In times where there seems to be a constant search for supernatural signs and wonders, let us not overlook the absolutely miraculous reality of baptism; a life that was dead in sin, is now alive in Christ. As a church, let us commit to always seek first and foremost this supernatural wonder.
